British Library Update:
Summer Term ‘Journeys’ project:
The British Library will be running a new summer term project: Journeys. It will invite primary school children across the country to create books about journeys, from local walks and migration stories to fantasy adventures and time travel. They will be running two livestreamed events, which are completely free for schools.
Journeys: Authors into schools event - 18th June - 1.20pm - 2.30pm:
Join SF Said and Viviane Schwarz to explore Journeys. Using the authors' top writing and illustration tips, references to well-loved children’s books, playful prompts, draw-along fun and collection treasures, SF and Viviane will provide inspiration for children to embark on their own journeys of discovery. Children will start creating their own handmade journey books containing maps, words, and pictures. Perfect for Years 3-6.
Free livestreamed CPD - 3rd June - 4pm - 5.15pm:
Join SF Said, Professor Teresa Cremin and Cumbria-based teacher Karen Stringer to investigate ways of inspiring writing for pleasure through our Journeys writing challenge.
